Chris Delaunay

Director of Government Relations, HI

As the Director of Government Relations in Strategies 360’s Hawaiʻi office, Chris brings extensive experience in local, state, and federal affairs. With a deep understanding of the intricacies of the legislative process, Chris is a key asset in navigating complex government landscapes and advocating effectively for clients.

Before joining Strategies 360, Chris served as the Government Relations Manager for Pacific Resource Partnership (PRP), a unique advocacy organization representing Hawaiʻi’s unionized carpenters and the state’s leading contractors. In this role, Chris developed, implemented, and managed PRP’s government relations strategy, and was instrumental in drafting legislation and coordinating advocacy efforts to forge strategic alliances, significantly advancing PRP’s mission.

Chris also served as a senior advisor to former Honolulu City Councilmember Fukunaga. His tenure with the city, along with his experience working at the Hawaiʻi State Legislature as a budget analyst, legislative analyst, and assistant committee clerk has equipped him with a wealth of knowledge about state and county legislative processes. His collaborative work with state and county agencies has been crucial in resolving stakeholder concerns.

In addition to his legislative and advisory roles, Chris has significant experience in political campaigns across Hawaiʻi, notably serving as the field organizer on Hawaiʻi Island to Mazie Hirono’s successful campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006.

Chris holds a Juris Doctor in Law from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and a Master of Arts degree in Foreign Affairs from the School of International Service at American University in Washington, D.C.

When not at work, Chris enjoys spending time with his family at the beach, hiking, and relaxing at home.
