American Wood Council
To anchor its promotion and celebration of National Forest Products Week 2021 (October 18-22), the American Wood Council had planned to host an in-person event showcasing an innovative mass timber project in the DC area. Ideally, this event would have brought in members of congress and their staff, federal agency staff, and engineers and code officials to learn more about the use of wood in tall buildings.
Due to ongoing restrictions because of COVID-19, these plans were put on hold in late September. Strategies 360 devised an alternative event to highlight innovation and collaboration: an online panel discussion to highlight a unique mass timber project virtually. The one-hour webinar started with a video case study of the ICCU Arena at the University of Idaho that S360 pre-produced in collaboration with the university (the college contributed construction and manufacturing b-roll). The screening of the video was followed by presentations from key project players and a Q&A session with more than 200 attendees.
