As the Director of Federal Relations and Strategic Initiatives in both the Hawaii and D.C. offices, Alex melds his knowledge of state and federal government to deliver results for clients. He brings over a decade of service in Congress where he worked closely with a diverse range of Hawaii stakeholders and key federal officials. His areas of expertise include strategic communications and public relations, federal funding and advocacy, and political campaigns.

Most recently, Alex served as a senior member of U.S. Senator Brian Schatz’s leadership team. He got his start in Congress by working as the Deputy Communications Director for the late Congressman Mark Takai. Alex also served as the Deputy Campaign Manager and lead spokesman for the Takai campaign where he helped to spearhead communication, fundraising, and political strategy.

Alex was born and raised in Hawaii where he attended Punahou School. He loves to surf and be in the water. Alex is a big sports fan and in particular loves the 49ers and Golden State Warriors. He is also a member of the U.S. Japan Council. Alex earned a B.S. in finance from the University of the Pacific.
