Jake Posey
Senior Advisor
As Senior Advisor for S360 Texas, Jake brings a unique blend of legal, business and political experience to the firm – both as an attorney and as a business professional. Drawing from his past experience working with nationally recognized consulting firms, innovative high-tech startups and global leaders in the telecommunications industry, Jake counsels S360 clients in a wide range of sectors and diligently works to deliver strategic solutions to his client’s public policy challenges.
Prior to joining S360, Jake spent almost two decades as the principal of a highly specialized government relations law firm based in Austin, Texas. Consistently recognized by his peers, as well as leading Texas political publications, as one of Austin’s “go-to” lobbyists, Jake represents individuals and Fortune 500 companies, respected market leaders, and some of Texas’ leading state associations. Previously, Jake served in various staff positions at the Texas Capitol including legal counsel and clerk to a powerful Texas House committee where he drafted legislation and advised members on pivotal legal issues. He also served as the Chief of Staff to a longstanding member of the Texas House of Representatives.
Since leaving the public sector, Jake has spearheaded countless legislative initiatives on behalf of his clients helping to shape state and national policy. Specifically, he drafted landmark legislation bringing about major telecommunications and video franchise reforms, developed policy that led to a critical statewide tax adjustment for the manufacturing industry, crafted statewide policy designed to enhance regulated areas of the Texas pool and spa industry and helped establish key policies that protect legacy foster care and adoption providers across Texas.
Today, Jake proudly works with clients who span multiple industries; from prominent corporate organizations to statewide associations and well-regarded non-profits.
Jake graduated with a B.A. in M.I.S. and Marketing from Baylor University and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Texas A&M University School of Law. When he’s away from work, Jake can be found spending time with his family, enjoying the outdoors, hunting, fishing, or sitting in the stands at a ball game.
