Lorena’s history in policy circles helps her build strong consensus on critical issues that impact S360 clients.
Lorena joined S360 after serving in the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Texas. For five years in that position Lorena oversaw legislation in Texas related to open records, environmental regulations, public finance and financial litigation. While working with State lawmakers, she shepherded significant bi-partisan bills through the state legislature.
Inspired by her grandfather, a Mexican American farm laborer and political activist, Lorena got her start in politics early. Throughout her college years, she served as an Ambassador with the Department of Multicultural Services. She went on to serve as an Aide within the San Antonio City Council, then served as a Policy Analyst in the Texas state senate. As a Policy Analyst, Lorena worked on transportation, infrastructure and energy resources policies. She also supported the organization and management of a statewide Blue Ribbon Task Force Committee focused on proposals to prevent child abuse. After that, she joined the Department of Family and Protective Services where she consulted with external child welfare stakeholders and developed legislation on behalf of the Department.
Lorena earned her undergraduate degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Texas A&M University. She is currently working towards her MBA in the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
